It is with great pleasure that we announce the international interdisciplinary conference “Philosophy and Cartography” PROGRAM (attached in PDF version below).

The conference will be cohosted by the Institute of Philosophy of the University of Wroclaw and the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wroclaw (November 4th-8th 2019). It will involve panel discussions and the exhibition of artworks.
Both the exhibition and the discussions are dedicated to the topics of mapping, maps and the relationship between philosophy and cartography considered as the art of creating and reading the maps, which implies both using technical skills and knowledge.
It will be inaugurated with the openining of the exhibition “Map/Territory” and a PhD students’ discussion panel on November 4th at the Academy of Art and Design in Wroclaw/ Centre for Applied Arts and Innovation Centre.
On November 5th and November 8th we will meet in the Institute of Philosophy (lecture hall 240) for two conference panels: Cartography – Methodologies, Politics, Ethics (Tuesday) and Mapping as Representing (Friday).
The third day of the conference (The Art of Mapping) on November 6th will be held in the Academy of Art and Design in Wroclaw/ Centre for Applied Arts and Innovation Centre (lecture hall 410).
